It was nine days ago when we arrived in Laos. Immediately we already knew that we were in a very special place. The people, the food and scenery were all very enjoyable. We spent our first night in the city of Vientiane. We had an amazing dinner and spent the rest of night walking the night market. The next day we took a bus to Vang Vieng, where we spent the following 4 nights.
In Vang Vieng we spent our time relaxing and enjoying the town and what it had to offer. The town of Vang Vieng is renown for an activity they call "tubing." Basically, the premise behind tubing is that you rent an inflatable rubber tube and take a tuk tuk 8 km out of town to the main river. Along side the river are a bunch of bars situated on both sides for a few kilometers. So as you float down the scenic river you can stop by as many or little bars as you want. The whole idea is absolutely crazy, and I have never heard of anything like it before. However, as you can imagine it was heaps of fun. To float the entire river by tube, it takes about 4 hours or so (depending on how many bars you stop at haha)
Most of the pictures on my camera are from our tubing experience and the rest of our Laos experience is on Briana's.

These guys work hard. They throw out ropes to fellow tubers and bring them into their respective bars |

After four nights in Vang Vieng we took an over night bus to Luangprabang where we only spent half a day before heading to Chiangmai!
